A Controlled Demolition is a collection of raw, unfiltered poems that dares to peel back the curtain and confront the complexity of the human condition. It's real, honest, and heartfelt, daring the reader to look at the image reflected in the mirror. Benjamin Fox isn't afraid to lay himself bare in this powerful selection, throwing off the chains of pretense to create a work that's refreshingly true and candid.

More to come!

I Will Resurrect Myself

The gravity of your world is pulling me in
Bringing me out of orbit
And everything I knew
All I evolved into
Is fading into my past

But the mold that I cast
Is securely hidden away
And I will resurrect myself

Intertwined

Let's ignore all the lies
Of the charade we call Valentine's
'Cause you should be yours
And I should be mine
But what I can't see
Is why we can't be
Intertwined

I want to tell you I love you
But I couldn't say it's forever
'Cause that's the same as never

If I should need to go my own way
Or you should want to fly away
We can't be each other's ropes
Keeping us at bay

For moments that come, must always go
Life that's born, must always die
But as long as we're on this unbelievable ride
I'll call myself yours, if you'll call yourself mine

As The Ice Starts To Form

As the ice starts to form on my skin
The corpses of memories I buried within
Rise up and grab me and drag me back in
Destroying all that I thought I had been

Listening to the hum of the pipes
Watching all the people walk by
Wishing I could only get high
Drifting out slowly, shutting my eyes

What's coming in from the outside
Cutting my thoughts, getting inside
Why is truth so hard to find?

So many have senselessly died
Standing next to each other's sides
Just a few protecting their hides

The people are gathering inside my mind
Gridlocked, deadlocked, shut off the lights

Evolution Of The Night

We are the banks of a raging river
We are your atmosphere
We are the moon and you are the tides
We are the darkening skies

We speak in tongues

The Sound Of The World Falling Down

It's wearing me down
Not hearing a sound
Except for the sound
Of the world falling down

Everything is spinning
And everyone is winning
Artificial winnings
So their world will keep on spinning

It's wearing me down
And everything is spinning

It's wearing me down
And everything is spinning

The Mole

Your mind's screaming for you to let go!
To lose all of your control!

Listen to the digging mole
Or he will soon take a toll
On everything you love and hold
Close to your dying soul
By digging the deepest hole

But then your mind will slowly unfold
And you'll become the only show
Where everyone watches you find your flow
As your fears surface before you know
And everything begins to slow...

When all of a sudden a secret code
Begins to claw its way home
Up through the very hole
Dug by the dirty mole
Who cared not about your soul
And tried his best to take a toll
Not meant for him to hold

And then your mind will have been blown

The Black Hole At The Center Of The Galaxy

Are you a moon stuck in the gravity of a planet?
Or are you a planet revolving around a star?
Still believing your world is small?

Do you accept your place?
Or are you in the race?
You have a choice to make

I'm reaching for the black hole
At the center of the galaxy
But right now I just feel lost
Lackluster
Like nothing ever matters to me
A lonely stone growing moss

But I am no moon stuck in your gravity
Nor a planet revolving around your star
With eyes closed in a world so small

I won't accept this place
I will win this race
I have no choice to make

On The Blank Canvas

The infinite white stares back at me
Reflecting what I thought I'd be

A controlled demolition
A staged performance
That's nowhere close to reality

And now it seems that all I can see
Is balance will save you from the depths of the sea

I am a controlled demolition

This is a staged performance

That’s nowhere close to reality
